Identify the pieces

With a 5 of cups vira, Perico is the 11 of cups and Perica is the 10 of cups. When the vira is an 11, Perico becomes that suit’s 12. When it is a 10, Perica becomes the 12. Only the relevant suit and substitution change; an arbitrary king is not a piece.

Strongest to weakest

Common cards in the same group have equal strength; suits do not break that tie. A seven of cups does not share the seven of swords’ strength.

  • Perico → Perica → ace of swords → ace of clubs
  • 7 of swords → 7 of coins → threes → twos
  • Other aces → kings → ordinary knights → ordinary jacks
  • Other sevens → sixes → fives → fours

One card, two kinds of value

An ordinary face card contributes zero to Envido but can beat a four in a trick. Perico has an Envido base of 30 and Perica 29. Trick ranking and Envido calculation answer different questions; do not add the strengths in this list to calculate points.
