Start by asking about the vira

Mesa’s Venezuelan variant exposes a vira and uses two top pieces, Perico and Perica. An Argentine explanation without those pieces does not describe our ranking. Before trusting a table you found, check its variant name and treatment of the exposed card.

Do not transfer a call ladder

Mesa uses 1 unraised, Truco 3, Retruco 6, Vale nueve 9 and Vale partido 24. Do not use a number remembered from another game to decide what “No quiero” concedes. The prior value on the Venezuelan ladder is what counts.

A documented contrast

Ludoteka’s Argentine guide gives Truco 2, Retruco 3 and Vale cuatro 4, with a 30-point target. Its ranking starts with the ace of swords. This is a concrete reason an Argentine guide cannot replace Mesa’s Venezuelan table, which starts with the vira’s pieces.

Read Envido and Flor again

Pieces have special values and expand the Flor patterns. Mesa requires Flor, caps ordinary Envido raises at seven and does not use muerte. These conditions matter more than a broad country comparison; customs can vary within a region too.

A useful check

Before playing, confirm deck, exposed card, pieces, target, calls and Envido timing. If all six agree with this guide, you are learning the right variant for Mesa. Otherwise, keep the other explanation as a reference for its own table.
